One of Greater Shepparton’s councillors joined a local art class to share knowledge and experience around art and tradition.

The Mooroopna Education and Arts Centre holds morning art classes on Thursdays and welcomed Cr Greg James to run a workshop about Yorta Yorta art styles.

Cr James talked about his life and his culture, and provided guidance and support to the artists present.

During the class on June 29, Cr James was presented with a portrait of himself by artist Carol Evans.

Photographer Rechelle Zammit was there to take pictures of the day. Here’s what she captured alongside some contributed photos from the class.
