It is believed this will continue even when it becomes more challenging to leave home behind for a few hours during the evening.
Heie Hanson continued his resurgence with another win in Club Challenge number 2 played on Monday, April 5.
Heie is rapidly regaining his touch and is sure to be ranked amongst the lowest handicap holders within coming months. Dave Mark was the other finalist and his performance to win 3 matches in getting to the final table was full of merit.
Wednesday night social play on April 7 saw standard finalists in Deb Harbrow and Daryl McKernan squaring off.
Both have been in great form, particularly in the mid-week events, and the victory went to Deb this time in recording her second straight win.
The monthly round of the Diggers Tribute was held on Monday, April 12 and last year’s title holder, Darren Edwards, contested the final against consistently improving Dan Young.
Dan prevailed to continue his ascension through club events this year and Darren played well to record three wins on his way to the decider.
The social event on Wednesday, April 14 saw a big field that included a new club member in Daniel Kwok, who is a new resident of Yarrawonga.
The club extend a big welcome to Daniel and trust he will enjoy his participation in the club.
Daniel played very well to reach the semi-final but ran into an Adrien Ridley buzz that saw Adrien reach the final against Chris Page.
Chris put up another strong performance but Adrien showed his undoubted skills to get the victory in a night where he made a highest break of 70 and a number of others in the 30 to 45 range.
Next week sees the commencement of the Autumn pairs, which is a round robin event where teams of 2 play 2 singles and a doubles matches, meaning the club will be playing plenty of snooker over coming weeks.
The highly respected and sought after Anzac Tribute will be played on April 26, which is another highlight of the year.
As people can see on the Club Mulwala website and in its members newsletter, the snooker club welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try.
There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try the facilities out.
The club have 2 excellently maintained full size tables available for competition, practice and visitor use, and a regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally.
There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
