A man has been airlifted to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision in Echuca Village on Wednesday morning.

Police understand a driver was towing a caravan along Simmie Road when it collided with another car at the intersection of Mitchell Road around 9.30am.

A Police Media spokesperson told The Riv the driver of the car towing the caravan, a man in his 50s, was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

The passenger of the car, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Echuca Regional Health with minor injuries.

The female driver of the other car and a five-year-old were also taken to Echuca Regional Health for observation.

EARLIER: Emergency services are on the scene of a road incident on the corner of Mitchell Road and Simmie Road in Echuca Village.

Fire, police and ambulance crews are in attendance following the incident which was reported at 9.35am this morning.

Members of the public are asked to consider avoiding the area.
