Camp fire to blame for out of control blaze in Murchison

Shepparton District Country Fire Brigade Commander Travis Harris said the fire burnt approximately 10 acres of land.

“The fire was placed under control within the hour,” Mr Harris said.

“It’s believed the blaze started as a result of a campfire.

“One of the campers had to be unfortunately treated, as they suffered burns to their feet. ”

Crews continued to work late into the night and early hours of Wednesday morning to ensure the blaze was completely extinguished.

No structures were damaged in the fire.
