Having learnt a range of the basics throughout the session hosted by Natascha Mazurek from Cool Kids First Aid, the four and five-year-old children walked away with a fresh confidence in knowing what to do in case of an emergency.
Kindergarten teacher Jessica Maguire said the age-appropriate session was a valuable lesson that she felt was critical for the children to understand.
"It's the first time I've ever seen something like that for this age and I just thought it's such an important message,” she said.
"They're never too young to learn it."
She said while first aid was common knowledge for adults, it could often slip parents’ minds to teach their young children.
“I’ve had a lot of parents say to me ‘I didn’t even think to teach my child that’,'' Ms Maguire said.
"So all the parents have been on board and thought it was a fantastic idea.”
She said following the enthusiasm from the children, she hoped the centre would continue to hold the sessions for each new group in the future.
“You hope they never have to use it, but if they do at least from today they’ll remember it and be a bit more prepared than they were earlier,” she said.
