Pigeons in the hunt for recruits

By Yarrawonga Chronicle

With the introduction of a third grade of female football for season 2020, the Yarrawonga Pigeons are actively recruiting players for next season.

After fielding teams in the open and under 16 competitions over the last few seasons the Pigeons will be fielding three teams in open, under 17 and under 14 divisions for 2020.

It’s an ideal time to come down and give footy a go as pre-season has already began on Thursday evenings at JC Lowe Oval from 5.30pm-7pm with under 14s and under 17s coaches Shane Preer and Jared Loughnan and open coach Hayley Durnford.

Players can play from 11 years old and up but must be turning 11 in 2020.

In addition, AFL North East Border will be holding local Come and Try Days in February at the JC Lowe Oval (February 4, 6,11 and 13 from 5.30pm-6.30pm).  If you register online you will receive a free football on attendance to one of the days.
