The weather was filmed live from Echuca Moama on Wednesday then from Rutherglen on Thursday with Tim Davies the weather presenter enjoying a paddle out to the trees on LakeMulwala with Shayne Preer of Airtree Resort as a brief opportunity for a Yarrawonga Mulwala promo.
The arrangements were coordinated by Murray Regional Tourism and a campaign by Tourism Victoria to reactivate the regions along the Murray River.
Murray Regional Tourism CEO Mark Francis said the opportunity to showcase the area was part of a campaign to reinvigorate the towns after the devastating start to the year.
“The opportunity to showcase Yarrawonga Mulwala to a national audience on Channel Nine’s Today program was facilitated by Murray Regional Tourism in partnership with Visit Victoria,” Mr Francis said.
“It forms part of our reactivation marketing activity following the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on the region’s tourism industry.
“With Channel Nine filming at Echuca Moama and Rutherglen, it was the perfect opening to feature kayaking on Lake Mulwala as part of the broader regional tourism experience.
“Murray Regional Tourism is currently working on a range of marketing initiatives in collaboration with our state tourism partners to support local tourism operators and encourage visitors to the region.”
