Vehicles parked in Woods Road, Coghill, Orr and Telford Streets were broken into by opportunistic thieves.
Sergeant David Young is pleading with residents to lock their vehicles even if they are on their own property.
“Generally, it is the opportunistic thief that will enter and unlocked car,” Sgt Young said.
“Remember if you leave your vehicle unlocked there is no insurance if something is stolen from the car or if your car is stolen.
“For tradespersons it is important that all of your tools are engraved with your driver’s licence number.
“No-one will buy stolen tools if they have a nice deeply engraved licence number on them, they are now readily identifiable and virtually unsaleable.”
