Blue-green algae alert removed from Yarrawonga Weir and Lake Mulwala

By Rodney Woods

Goulburn-Murray Water has removed the blue-green algae warning for Yarrawonga Weir/Lake Mulwala, following a significant decline in blue-green algae levels.

G-MW will continue to undertake water quality monitoring and if blue-green algae reach levels deemed unsafe by national health guidelines, a warning will be issued.

Customers are reminded that water supplied by G-MW is not suitable for human consumption without first being properly treated.

Blue-green algae warnings remain current for Lake Eppalock and the No.2 Lagoon in the Torrumbarry Irrigation Area.
