Among the most notable transactions have been the coming and going of league medallists from reigning Goulburn Valley League premier Kyabram, with the Bombers signing 2018 and 2019 McNamara medallist Kaine Herbert from Undera.
Herbert, 26, has committed to the Bombers for next season, where he will join the talent-loaded squad to test his hand at the higher level after blistering form in Kyabram District League, while he is also an Ovens and King league medallist from 2016.
Intending to head the other way is last year's Morrison medallist Mick Mattingly, who has been cleared to junior club Turvey Park in the Riverina Football League — although his plan to play with the New South Wales-based club through its nine-game season is in limbo after the Victorian-NSW border was closed.
Mattingly played all his juniors at Turvey Park as well as two seasons of seniors, although he will return to Kyabram for next year's season.
Elsewhere, former Shepparton and Murray Bushrangers talent Cam Wild has headed to South Australia, where he has joined Central Districts in the SANFL.
Wild, who had signed to play this GVL season with Shepparton United, has not featured for the club's senior side in the first two rounds, although he did play a hand in the Bulldogs’ reserves’ 35-point win at the weekend.
Another former Bear, young gun Orien Kerr, has also shifted clubs after most Victorian football has been cancelled, cleared to AFL Queensland.
Kerr will spend the year with Queensland state league side Mount Gravatt to continue to gather senior experience, with the QAFL season to begin this weekend.
Kerr was one of the GVL's breakout stars last season, to the point where he earned a VFL contract with North Melbourne for this year.
In other clearances, Echuca has continued to accrue the district's best talent, with Cohuna's Josh Treacy and Tongala's Harley Reid headed to Victoria Park.
Treacy was one of the Bendigo Pioneers’ best last year and is on the AFL draft radar, named as a member of the AFL Academy, while Reid kicked 130 goals for the Blues’ under-14 side last season.
Both would be expected to feature should the GVL's junior grades proceed this year, as planned.
Shepparton United has also transferred in Numurkah's Josh O'Dwyer and Katunga's Max Hendy for its junior campaign.
O'Dwyer played 10 games for the Murray Bushrangers last season, while Hendy co-captained the Swans’ under-17 Picola District league premiership.
