Finals-bound outfit Pine Lodge suffered a shock 14-run loss to Tatura in the round 10 encounter at Lemnos Recreation Reserve.
Tatura pulled off a remarkable win by defending its first week total of 5-86, thanks to a ferocious bowling spell from young quicks Jacob Phillingham (4-3) and Cameron King (3-17).
Phillingham grabbed his best figures of the season as he tore through Pine Lodge's middle-order, while King also finished with season best numbers with the ball.
Despite the Lodgers’ James Nugent (39 runs) shining with the willow, the home side was unable to stop the heroics of Tatura's strike bowlers, as it was dismissed for 72 runs.
In the first week of finals, Pine Lodge will travel to take on Euroa at the Magpies’ home ground, while ladder-leader Numurkah will host Mooroopna.
● At B-grade level, a brilliant 63 unbeaten from Logan Campbell was not enough to help Murchison get over the line in its run chase against Nagambie.
The Grasshoppers — chasing 168 for victory — were dismissed for 125 off 40.4 overs as Nagambie's Harrison Wall (3-14) and Shami Khan (2-15) ripped through Murchison's tail-order.
In the other match, Northerners claimed a comfortable four-wicket win against Katandra.
Kyle Montgomery (15 not out) and Declan Newbound (10 not out) guided the Jets to victory in their small run chase, reaching the Eagles’ total of 66 with six wickets down.
This weekend's semi-final matches will have the Jets play against Murchison and Nagambie hosts Katandra.
● At under-14 A-grade level, Shepparton United will have home ground advantage in its semi-final after defeating Notre Dame-St Brendan's Gold in the final round.
United's Tyler Green crunched an unbeaten 40 off 78 deliveries in his side's five-wicket victory.
And Numurkah's Harry McDonald produced stunning bowling figures of 5-2 in the Blues’ dominant win against Notre Dame-St Brendan's Black.
The Blues will take on Gold this weekend, while Shepparton United will host Old Students for a spot in the grand final.
● In the B-grade competition, Old Students have finished the year on top after defeating second-placed Nagambie at the weekend.
The Lakers’ Hugh McKeown (53 runs) whacked an unbeaten half-century, but Students’ Sam O'Brien (3-23) bowled superbly as Nagambie was dismissed for 173 — nine runs from victory.
Waaia youngster Will Trower picked up 4-18 in his side's 36-run win against Karramomus-Pine Lodge.
In the semi-final matches, Old Students will host Waaia and Nagambie will challenge Northerners.
