Euroa will be aiming to enter the Haisman Shield Christmas break on a high when it welcomes Old Students to Memorial Oval tomorrow.
The home side suffered a tough loss to Katandra last round - after winning two on the trot - and will look to get back in the win column after the 128-run defeat.
Old Students are on the hunt for consecutive victories after sealing a dominant win against Shepparton United in round seven.
Tomorrow's round eight encounter reverts back to a one-day clash following the run of two-day matches.
Interestingly, tomorrow's match will be the second time in three days the two sides will face each other, following Wednesday night's Twenty20 clash at Euroa.
The Magpies won that match by four wickets thanks to the efforts of Sean Hemeter (36) and Shami Dadallage (32) in the chase.
Sri Lankan import Mahesh Priyadarshana starred with the ball and claimed 3-25 for the home side, while Old Students’ Callan McCabe carried his side with a dazzling 74 not out.
McCabe is fast becoming one of the competition's most consistent all-rounders.
Across all formats this season, McCabe has notched up 415 runs at an average of 51.9 and has claimed 16 wickets at an average of 12.6.
He is certain to be the key to Old Students’ hopes of victory tomorrow, while the same can be said for Euroa's Priyadarshana.
Although not as consistent as McCabe, Priyadarshana has tallied 343 runs and 13 wickets this season and has a sublime ton to his name against Northerners in round five.
