Under-14 cricket | round six wrap

By Alex Mitchell

Strong batting from Numurkah kept its undefeated Cricket Shepparton under-14A season going.

Set 90 to win by Notre Dame-St Brendan's Gold, the Blues’ middle-order did the job with Riley Dobson (38 not out) and Riley Dawson (37 not out) posting nice scores.

Lucas Roberts also chipped in with 18 as the Blues finished their 45 overs at 6-185.

Gold had a second dig and smashed 4-104 off 23 overs, with Ethan Beck (43 not out) and Mason Reeves (41 not out) playing well.

Elsewhere, Shepparton United's Ashton Young took six wickets as his side sealed a comfortable win against Old Students.

Defending 166, United ripped through the Students’ top-order to knock them off from 82, before having another bat and making 4-54.

And Notre Dame-St Brendan's Black took victory against Euroa despite being bowled out for 70.

Having skittled the Magpies for 33 on day one, the Tigers made 70 in reply with captain Ryan Ash's 29 leading the way.

Cohen Paul did everything he could with 3-4 for Euroa.

The Magpies had another bat and made 6-101.

● In under-14B, Karramomus-Pine Lodge ground out a 23-run win against Toolamba.

Chasing 81, the combine was 6-23 and in all sorts, but rallied to get past the total with three wickets in hand.

Nagambie took a comfortable win against Tatura, but came agonisingly close to an outright result.

The Lakers declared at 8-206 in response to Tatura's 37, Blake Ezard (36) and Darby O'Brien (35) among the runs.

Tatura survived an outright loss, but only just, sitting at 8-51 when the game was complete.

Ezard completed his amazing match with a staggering 5-3 from six overs.

And Old Students also came close to an outright win, but would still be thrilled with taking a dominant win against Waaia.

Having rolled the Bombers for nine, the Students made 8-194 with Sam O'Brien (33) and Andre Gagliardi (22) the top-scorers.

The Bombers finished at 5-25 from the match's last 12 overs.
