Tatura's top rink for the day was Kerry and Rob Dennis, Graeme Hubble and Maureen Shepherd who defeated M Ansett by 21 shots. They won 17 ends and were never really troubled at any stage.
Kerry has done a fine job this year; she was asked to take on the skipper’s role because of the numbers problem and the rules for Tuesday pennant. Well done!
Noreen Earl, Joe Chant, Jess Brennan and Carmen Quattrocchi played Lucy Portia and won by eight shots. Noreen was in fine form and saved her team’s bacon on many occasions.
Merrigum led all day but by the 21st end Kyabram had reduced the margin to three shots. The visitors finished strongly over the last four ends to have a good win in a great team effort.
In the last game Lee Chant’s rink was beaten by 15 shots by the rink skipped by Win Crilly.
The Ethel Younger day is on next Sunday. Please wear your uniform and have your names in by 12.45 pm. All players are asked to bring a plate for afternoon tea, and the cost for the day is $5.
The pokie trip is on Sunday, February 16, to Mulwala Waterski Club. The bus will leave Kyabram at 9 am and Merrigum at 9.15 am. It will also pick up in Mooroopna and Shepparton. Cost for a great day’s outing is still only $5 and includes the bus trip, morning tea, the meal and a free raffle on the trip home. Contact Betty, Meryl or Joe to book your seat; we hope to see all our regulars on this trip.
David Pettifer beat Jim Arthur on Friday in the semi-final of the club championship and will now meet Joe Chant on Wednesday afternoon to play off for the honour of being the club champion for the 2019-20 season. This event is late being decided and the match committee has done a great job under trying circumstances to finish off all of the other games.
