Tatura run-scoring machine Peter Trevaskis has raised the bat for the second time this Whitelock Shield season following his sublime century against Shepparton United on Saturday.
Trevaskis’ powerful 109 not out came off 119 deliveries and steered Tatura to a commanding total of 3-218 against United, who were then rolled for 140 in reply thanks to Oscar McGraw (3-17).
But it was Trevaskis who was the star of the show at Tatura's hard wicket oval.
Saturday's knock takes the veteran's season tally to 384 runs from six innings with an average of 96.
His brilliant ton perfectly set up the home side's win after his opening partner Hemanth Yenigalla departed for nine.
Wayne Giblin chipped in with 31 at first drop and then McGraw whacked a quick-fire 57 off 52 balls.
United's Nathan Quinlan top-scored for the away side with 29, while Salim Khan picked up 2-38.
● Elsewhere, a strong all-round team performance from Old Students secured its sixth win of the season, defeating Pine Lodge by 75 runs at Kialla West Recreation Reserve.
Having been sent in to bat, the Students quickly found themselves lurching at 2-9.
But a steady partnership between Jason Wild (71) and Ross Hammer (35) allowed them to regroup and push on to make 198.
And the pair's brave performance with the bat was then followed by terrific bowling efforts, with Hammer (3-16) and Wild (2-5) combining for five wickets.
The Lodgers’ Berwinder Singh can hold his head high with an unbeaten 30 with the bat.
In the remaining matches, Murchison was too good for Mooroopna and Dhurringile trounced Katandra.
