Six Shepp Little Aths teams through to state finals

A number of Shepparton's rookie runners are heading to the State Relay Championships after strong showings in the regional round.

Six Shepparton Little Athletics Centre teams are heading to the December 14 extravaganza at Casey Fields thanks to their performances at last month's Shepparton-hosted Little Athletics Northern Country Region Relay Carnival.

Athletes from Albury, Bendigo, Echuca-Moama, Kyabram, Lavington-Jindera, Murrindindi, Nathalia, Seymour, Wangaratta and Wodonga trekked to Shepparton for the epic day of shared racing fun.

The Shepparton stars had 37 teams and racked up medals, taking four golds, seven silvers and seven bronze for a impressive total haul of 18 medals.

The six teams heading through are;

●under-13 boys medley (Reeve Evans, Jake Novotny, Noah and Jack Williams, Alex Barnes (emg), Jacob Dimit (emg)).

●under-13 mixed 4x100m (Reeve Evans, Jacob Dimit, Katie Barnes and Khyara Austen).

●under-14 boys 4x100m (Matthew Dimit, Christian Vaitohi, Ryan Schwarz and Reeve Evans).

●under-14 boys 4x200m (Jacob Dimit, Matthew Dimit, Christian Vaitohi and Ryan Schwarz).

●under-15 girls 4x100m (Charlette Gray, Ella Novotny, Haylee Stone and Natalie Heard).

●under-15 mixed 4x100m (Charlette Gray, Ella Novotny, Miller Gilchrist and Emmanuel Laulu).
