In a thrilling women's triples final, Leask, in combination with MCC's Fay Winther and Bundoora RSL's Jody Nevill, got the job done on the final end, seeing off Andrea Tudorovic, Lorelle Tebbet and Judy Nardella 14-11.
It completed a big week for the team in which five teams stepped up and five were stepped down, with Leask and Winther putting their names on the Victorian Open honour board for the first time, while Nevill claimed her second title, having won the 2013 women's pairs.
Yesterday's other Goulburn Valley highlight was a brilliant men's singles quarter-final clash between Tallygaroopna's Matt Robertson and South Bendigo's Mitch Sidebottom, who is from Tallygaroopna.
Robertson had trailed 14-12, but stormed home, saving his best bowls until last to come away with a 21-17 victory.
The win moved Robertson through to the semi-finals, where he was scheduled to face Lilydale's Zac Woning last night.
Sidebottom had won two singles matches on Wednesday evening to progress to the quarter-finals, beating Katamatite product Curt Hanley 21-18 in an epic contest and Forbury Park's Duane White 21-10.
Robertson had needed to gut out a nail-biter against Stawell's Grant Seary to make the quarters, winning 21-18.
Men's pairs action yesterday morning had Tallygaroopna's Mark Ryan and Ocean Grove's Callum Hanna, who started playing bowls for Shepparton RSL, eliminated in the semi-finals.
Against Glenroy's Sam Rogers and Glenn Johnston, the duo battled hard but could not close the gap, falling 15-11.
Echuca's Philip Thorn and Mathoura's Michael Humphreys were beaten in the other semi, going down to Elliott Mason and Dean Drummond 19-10.
Mooroopna's Stacey Collier's run ended late on Wednesday night, falling in the fourth knockout round of the women's singles to Tweed Heads’ Wendy Wilson 21-14.
Katamatite product Curt Hanley was scheduled to play in the men's triples finals last night.
Hanley, who is teamed with Alex Skilton and Brad Foote, was set to battle Cooper Wescombe, Matt Flapper and Jarryd Davies for the title.
Hanley was also in action yesterday in the mixed pairs, where he and Justine Stokes were beaten against Jan Morton and Josh Sanders 22-11 in the semi-final.
Morton and Sanders were set to take on Deer Park's Sara Rodger and James Pearce in the final last night.
Today's finals schedule includes men's pairs (8.30am), women's singles (11am) and men's singles (1.30pm) to complete the week's festivities.
