Home club duo Daniel Nichols and Stacey Collier showed their ability throughout the tournament and proved far too strong in the final, seeing off Kevin Gilbert and Jean Sprague 21-10 to take the win.
The battle between the dynamic duos was of the highest calibre, with a full repertoire of shots delivered with finesse.
Nichols and Collier had a tough semi-final against Marg and Rob George.
The eventual champions had to produce their best to take a 24-13 win against the Kyabram pair.
The other semi had Gilbert and Sprague make the final after a rigorous tussle, eventually able to defeat Paul Nichols (Shepparton Park) and Lyn Barber (Mooroopna Golf) in a 20-16 thriller.
The association acknowledged the East Shepparton Bowls Club and its team of volunteers who prepared the greens and facilities. The women in particular kept the players well-nourished and provided treats for all in the form of ice-cream and topping.
It also sent a huge thank you to the two umpires, Maureen Shepherd and Donna Meola, who oversaw play on both days the tournament ran. It needs to be recognised their role as umpires is a tireless task with little reward.
The raucous atmosphere of the semis and the finals was made by many spectators — a big thank you to family, friends and club members.
