Set 9-216 to win, the Students relied on a stupendous knock from skipper Andrew Bock to take a four-wicket win at Murchison Recreation Reserve.
Opening the batting, Bock was seeing the ball beautifully, smashing 19 fours and two sixes in a majestic 120 that carried his team to the win.
When he was eventually dismissed he had contributed 120 of the 177 runs, with Jason Wild (24) and Mathew Newton-King (24 not out) getting involved to steer the side home.
Joshua Roberts was the best of the Murchison bowlers, taking 2-39 from seven overs.
Earlier, balanced batting had the Grasshoppers post 9-216 with eight batsmen getting double-figures.
Leading the way was captain Jim Collins with 61, while Ben Twynstra was in good form too with 35.
Ross Hammer bowled well for the Students, taking 3-39.
In other fixtures, Katandra won by 44 runs against Shepparton United with Rob Trewin's century the clear standout performance.
Trewin blasted 13 fours and six sixes in his 103, which helped the Eagles post 8-208 batting first.
United toiled hard with the bat, but was eventually rolled for 164, with Riley Williams’ 3-31 the best of the bowling figures.
Tatura took a good win against Pine Lodge, winning by 66 runs.
The Bulldogs made 8-169 batting first and had too much with the ball, dismissing the Pineapples for 103 from 33 overs.
