Tony, Josh, Gab and Andrew Sait — along with the latter's partner Amanda Heard — cleaned up at the Bendigo Athletics Club's presentation night recently after claiming victory in five out of the 12 races this season.
At one stage the family had snared success in five of the six races run to give them a roaring start to the year.
“We're really happy with how we went, we weren't really expecting too much going into the year, but I think we were getting really fit and moving really well,” Andrew said.
“We have (been doing cross-country for a while) and Amanda has just started coming up this year.
“We really enjoy it, we've obviously been going for a few years, so we've known the group for a long time and we get along really well so that makes the drive a little bit easier to get over there each time.”
Andrew, Amanda and Gab won 6.5km events, with Tony claiming victory in an 8km race and Josh in a 5km run.
Josh also snared the title of Club Champion, with Andrew (second) and Tony (third) finishing on the podium in their respective aggregate categories.
And after their best season pounding the pavement, the family is also keen to try their hand at various events with the newly formed Shepparton Athletics Club.
“Definitely, hands down (it was our best season),” Andrew said.
“We went to the open day and had a look and we'll certainly sign up and compete.”
