Boasting a $45 000 prize pool for the feature race, the time-honoured event is set to witness plenty of fascinators and flashy garments with a field brimming with talent certain to keep onlookers on their feet.
With conditions at a peak for tomorrow's spectacle, Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club general manager Jon Dight is sure the track surface will provide a show not to be missed.
“It looks absolutely beautiful at the moment, it hasn’t had a lot of action as we had to cancel the recent trials, so it’s in immaculate condition,” he said.
“There is a little bit of rain forecast, but that should just top it off nicely – it looks like a bowling ground if I am honest.”
Last year’s winner See Me Fly won't be returning for another run tomorrow, but a new contender in five-year-old mare Naivasha has been tipped to cross the line first after a 20-week spell.
Another name on everyone’s lips will be Roland Garros, winning two from three attempts so far this campaign, while five-year-old gelding Reserve Street can’t be ruled out with three placings from three runs this preparation.
The buzz around the ground will be electrifying, with 400 racing buffs already signed up to catch all the action according to Dight, who expects many more to watch on come tomorrow.
And while spectators will be champing at the bit to catch all the action out on the track, there will much more on the go at the event.
“There will be live music and entertainment at the ground, as well as screens with the footy for those wanting to watch,” he said.
“It should be a great day, everybody is looking forward to it.”
The racing starts with the first at 12.51pm, and the last at 5.11pm, with Dight noting there will be buses running out of Shepparton to the track tomorrow from 11am.
