The Lions powered home by 34 points at Deakin Reserve on Sunday to book a date with Echuca in the premiership decider.
It means the Lions get a chance to clinch their first win against Echuca and hand the Murray Bombers their first loss of the season.
The nerves of a cut-throat final looked to have got the better of Mooroopna and Seymour in the first quarter, with just a single goal kicked between the sides.
Seymour had the slight advantage of kicking with the breeze, but squandered their shots on goal, and only led 11-2 at the first break.
In the second term, Mooroopna fired on all cylinders as it kicked three majors and stole the lead.
Mooroopna's Henry Wedding (two goals) was potent in attack, while Dom Gugliotti and Kaedyn Napier dominated proceedings to have the Cats lead 25-20 at half-time.
But after its poor first-half effort Seymour changed gears in the second half.
The Lions — led by John Turvey — were able to gain ascendancy and kick nine goals to four, as they ran out 11.19 (85) to 7.9 (51) winners.
Nathan Beattie and Ben Rigoni booted two majors each for the Lions, while NAB League teammates Hudson Kaak (one) and Sam Durham rounded out the better players for Seymour.
Mooroopna's Tom McCarty, Darcy Russell (one goal) and Jai Carn impressed in the loss.
