The Redlegs will have to back-up immediately after a loss for the first time in almost two years against Lancaster in the final round of regular season action, following last week's loss to Nagambie.
Tallygaroopna coach Kevin O'Donoghue felt his charges cost themselves their unbeaten record with one poor stanza of football against the Lakers, and will be looking to rectify that when taking on the Wombats at Lancaster Recreation Reserve.
"The second quarter was very disappointing," O'Donoghue said.
"We did a few things wrong and probably just got outworked a bit.
"It was a really bad quarter and they were able to make it even worse by slamming on eight goals.
"We just need to respond. It's hard I suppose, it's our first loss in almost two years, so it's tough to be too disappointed, but we have a good opportunity to bounce back against a good side this week."
The Redlegs and Wombats will have one eye on the upcoming finals action, with Saturday's contest providing both with another chance to test their mettle against fellow September-bound opposition.
"They've made finals now, so will be in a similar position to us, we're trying to put those processes in place that we've been working on all year and fine tune them for the finals," O'Donoghue said.
"We need to make sure we address the areas that we got wrong last week.
"They're definitely a dangerous side, they're very fast and attacking.
"We'll look to see how the guys respond, but I know they are very keen to do so."
Tyson Sidebottom and Tim Karolidis should be among the inclusions for Tallygaroopna this weekend.
The Wombats had their way with Ardmona last round in a 331-point win — with Billy Ryan kicking 12 goals — while their previous fixture was against Tallygaroopna, in which the Redlegs took victory by 31 points.
"We only played them two weeks ago, so we've got some things we've reviewed and looked at," Lancaster coach Corey Carver said.
"We'll try and match them in close and at the stoppages and then work on turning the ball over less.
"We know what we have to do, it's just a matter of executing it on the day.
"It's a good thing to be playing teams like Tally and Nagambie this close to finals, it gives you a real idea of where you're at and who's ready for finals football."
