The Blues notched up a season-high 14 goals in their home encounter against Epsom, running rampant from start to finish.
‘‘The girls did all right, I think 14 goals speaks for itself,’’ stand-in coach Rocky Papalia said.
‘‘Epsom aren’t the team they were before, they are in a bit of a rebuilding stage, so I think it helped them as well.’’
Sophie Papalia was lethal in front of goal as usual, grabbing a hat-trick and playing provider for a number of her teammates.
And with the game all but won in the early stages, United shuffled the pack in order to give others some much needed minutes on the park.
‘‘We shifted the team around to give some of the other girls an opportunity to play; I think the only player who didn’t play out of position was our goalkeeper Lucy (Cianco),’’ Papalia said.
United’s next opponent is Golden City this weekend and Papalia said the Blues would not be pulling any punches.
‘‘Naturally you don’t know what you are coming up against, playing a team for the first time — you have to treat every team with respect,’’ Papalia said.
‘‘We will always start with our strongest line-up and we play our best when we pass and move.’’
