Seymour: breakfast from 8 am and flag-raising at 10.15 am at Kings Park. Entry only via Tallarook St, Seymour.
Broadford: breakfast from 7 am to 9 am. The day's events will finish at 3 pm. The main attraction will be a live stream of an official celebration of Rotary turning 100. This will be held between 12.30 pm and 2 pm and will be shown on a large television screen set up at the Island Reserve on High St, Broadford, where the Australia Day event will be held.
Wandong: breakfast at 8 am, followed by the national anthem and flag-raising at the L.B. Davern Reserve, 12 Dry Creek Rd, Wandong.
Wallan: Mitchell Shire Council's official Australia Day event will be held at Wallan Town Hall, 62 High St, Wallan. Flag-raising at 9 am and ceremony at 9.30 am..
Strathbogie
The winners of Strathbogie Shire’s Australia Day awards for community organisation of the year, junior citizen of the year, young citizen of the year and citizen of the year will be announced.
The community event of the year category has been removed for 2021 after COVID-19 restrictions forced most events to be postponed.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Chris Raeburn said the winners of the shire-wide awards would also be announced on the day.
“These awards recognise the people who give up their time to make our community a better place to live,” Cr Raeburn said.
“I am incredibly proud to call Strathbogie Shire home. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate our people and our community.”
Events will be held in the following locations:
Violet Town: breakfast at 7.30 am and ceremony at 9 am at the Violet Town Community Complex, 35 Cowslip St.
Avenel: ceremony from 9.30 am to 10.30 am and morning tea from 10.30 am to 11.30 am at Jubilee Park, Livingstone St.
Nagambie: sausage sizzle at 8 am and ceremony at 9 am on High St, Nagambie.
Strathbogie: ceremony at 9.30 am, morning tea at 10.30 am and barbecue at noon at Strathbogie Memorial Hall, Main St.
Euroa: ceremony at noon and barbecue at 1 pm at RSL Park, Kirkland Ave.
Longwood: barbecue at 6 pm and ceremony at 7 pm ceremony at Longwood Community Centre and Recreation Reserve.
Kelvingrove Village Nagambie
Kelvingrove Village Nagambie will hold a games afternoon for residents on Australia Day from 2 pm to 4 pm in the Kelvingrove Hall.
Please bring some afternoon tea to share.
Bring your best Aussie hat, shorts, singlets, thongs or outfit.
There will be prizes for best dressed and best hat.
Bring some change in case we can have a spinning wheel.
