The 14th running of the event is a 7.2km race from Chinaman’s Bridge to Tahbilk Winery on October 26.
This year’s event is expected to attract hundreds of boats, made up of eights, fours, double and single sculls in a range of categories.
There will also be food, wine tasting and live music from 10.30am to 1.30pm at Tahbilk Winery.
Nagambie Rowing Club’s Sue Andrews is event secretary and said she would like to keep what is one of Australia’s premier distance races evolving, while serving the rowers, spectators and wider community.
“This year we will have new commentator Linda Skidmore. Linda has a long and successful association with rowing, both here and overseas,” she said.
“Many senior school children attend the regatta and the coaches see this event as not only a good start to the upcoming racing season, but a chance for students to row and bond together.
“A reminder for waterway users that the river will be officially closed from Scours Bridge to Tahbilk Winery between 9am and 2pm.
“This has been done in conjunction with the Strathbogie Shire to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event and reduce inconvenience to other watercraft.”
