Two haystack fires in the region in less than 24 hours are still producing smoke.

About 130 hay bales were destroyed in a fire at Merrigum on Tuesday, December 28.
Firefighters were called to the haystack fire at the Lilford Rd property about 6pm.
The hay and some surrounding grass was burnt.
On Wednesday the property owner continued to patrol the blaze with CFA crew attending periodically to inspect the fire, which is still burning.
The CFA issued a community notice on Wednesday for 48 hours for continuing smoke in the area.
There was another haystack fire on Murray Valley Hwy at Yambuna on Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters attended the fire, and a community information alert was issued that smoke may be seen in the area for 24 hours.
