He keeps the cogs turning when it comes to providing clients with the best equipment and parts.
Mr Edgar was a part of O’Connors for eight years as a salesman and, after leaving for work in Echuca, moved back to Shepparton to become the sales manager, a position he’s held for three years since.
He’s gained a lot of experience at O’Connors, which is something he’s always appreciated about the company.
“It's terrific,” Mr Edgar said.
“There's a pathway to somewhere when you work for O’Connors — you don't have to work for our O’Connors for the rest of your life or you can and work your way up, because it's such a big company.
“The sky's the limit, if you've got the drive.
“We’re about employing local people and giving the locals somewhere to come and work. It's somewhere to come and work and progress if they want to.“
Being a part of a big branch means that not only are various job opportunities available across the board, but clients can also be assured they’re receiving the best access to farming equipment.
“We have an ability to draw on a vast network and because we're sort of in different climatic zones too, different dealerships are busy at different times so we can move techs, equipment and parts around to suit the seasons,” Mr Edgar said.
“Just the knowledge that's under each roof; O’Connors have been going for a long time and we have that ability to be able to draw on all of our other dealerships.
“If we can't fix it, there'll be someone in our dealership network that will know.”
Alongside the company itself, the customers have been another big reason why Mr Edgar has stayed all these years.
“Dealing with the customers is the best part,” he said.
“Everything else behind that is just hard work but the customers make it worthwhile. The customer satisfaction is the best part of the job.
“If you can't be a farmer, this is the next best place to be.
“The ag industry is really good at the moment and I don't think there'd be a more buoyant industry in Australia at the moment.”
