There is no longer an active threat to homes or properties.
The fire started in Sheridans Ridge Rd with a mechanical header in a paddock this afternoon and moved easterly under a westerly wind.
Acting commander, CFA District 24, Clare Healy said there was significant losses to crops and hay bales and the fire was a timely reminder to farmers.
“As we get deeper into the fire season, paddocks are drying out and as crops cure the risk is heightened,” she said.
“Now is a good time to check the ‘Can I Can’t I’ on the CFA website.” she said.
“The fire originated in Sheridans Ridge Rd but is now under control.”
