On Friday the town will sparkle and shine, as Tatura’s enormous Christmas tree will be switched on by Greater Shepparton Mayor Seema Abdullah.
The tree was designed by local Angelo Torresan, manufactured in Tatura by Trevaskis Engineering and decorations were created by students at Sacred Heart and Tatura Primary Schools.
The night will kick off the region's festive season, with the town filled with fun activities, food vendors and late-night shopping.
Family and friends can kick-start their Christmas shopping, as Tatura businesses are open late for people to snag the perfect gift. However, if shopping isn’t your idea of fun, visitors will have the opportunity to fill their face at one of the many food vendors.
Kids will be spoilt for choice with a range of activities, including ‘spot the elf on the shelf’, a competition with ‘cool’ prizes.
Tatura Men's Shed has been assigned the daunting task of restoring Santa's Sleigh, which the man in red himself will take for a test run on the night.
The Lions Club will be selling their famous Christmas cakes and will be giving the region a special opportunity to order their very own fresh Christmas tree.
The night's action will kick off from 6pm in Hogan St.
