Shepparton cyclists rode to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital on Thursday.
Riders from various riding groups — Goats, Cats, Area 51, Couldabeens and Bugs, just to name a few — donated $20 per rider towards the Good Friday Appeal.
This is the 24th year the riders have hit the road for the appeal. In that time the riders have managed to raise more than $40,000 for the hospital, organiser Phil Stevenson said.
The riders started at the Milk Bar café on the corner of Fryers and Corio streets, meeting for a coffee at 7am and getting stuck into the ride at 8am.
Mr Stevenson said the riders held various raffles to raise additional funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital, and that it was not unusual to clear more than $1000 on the day.
