The proposed facility, to be located at the former Mooroopna Harness Racing Club site on the corner of Midland Hwy and Elsie Jones Dve, has been designed by World Trail Pty Ltd — a company renowned for creating high-quality recreational cycling infrastructure across Australia and internationally.
The draft concept design features a tiered layout with separate jump lines for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.
The park aims to provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive space where local riders can learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy time outdoors.
Mayor Shane Sali said the project reflected council’s ongoing investment in active transport, sport and recreation infrastructure.
“This project is part of council’s broader goal to provide engaging, outdoor recreational opportunities for our growing and diverse community,” Cr Sali said.
“We know there’s a strong appetite among local riders, particularly young people, for high-quality jump tracks and progressive skill-building spaces. This concept design reflects those needs, and we now want to hear the community’s thoughts before moving into detailed design.”
A recent community drop-in session gave residents the chance to meet council officers and the design team in person.
Feedback on the draft concept design can now be provided via the Shaping Greater Shepp website, with submissions open until midnight, Friday, November 14.
Lower Goulburn Ward Cr Kieron Eddy said the development represented an exciting step forward for Mooroopna and the wider region.
“Our goal is to deliver a facility that sets the standard for regional bike jump parks,” Cr Eddy said.
“This is a unique opportunity to create a riding destination shaped by the ideas and aspirations of our community.”
