The concert is a partnership between Riverlinks and the Australian National Piano Award, aimed at showcasing the region's finest pianists.
Riverlinks venues manager Ken Cameron said the concert provided a chance for local musicians, teachers, students and academic professionals to perform on the cherished Steinway, purchased by the city in 2004.
“We are fortunate to host the Australian National Piano Award every second year. Each year we also host ANPA’s Playing for Pleasure concert. It’s a great afternoon full of wonderful music,” Mr Cameron said.
Playing for Pleasure is at Riverlinks Eastbank on Sunday, May 30 from 2 pm. Entry is by gold coin donation, and due to COVID-19 restrictions, registration is required.
Attendees can register in-person, online or by phoning the Riverlinks Box Office on 5832 9511.
The $65,000 biennial Australian National Piano Award 2021 takes place at Eastbank with judged solo performances from Monday, October 4, culminating in the grand final on Saturday, October 9.
