The line worker is one of six apprentices to receive an award for his performance, dedication and skill in 2020.
CitiPower and Powercor's head of field services Ross Young said he was extremely proud of all 57 apprentices and their achievements this year.
“Our apprentices are the best of the best and these awards recognise six outstanding apprentices across the business in 2020, who all have potential to be future leaders in the business,” he said.
“The feedback from across their nominations is similar — they’re all very reliable, team focused and have an outstanding work ethic.”
CitiPower and Powercor are now looking ahead to 2021, where they will employ another 10 apprentices.
In a record amount of applications, up 56 per cent from the previous year, the competition will be tough.
A total of 1237 applications were received, making the decision difficult — but Mr Young said that just showed how appealing the program was to young people.
The apprenticeship program has been running since 2001 and has given 429 apprentices and trainees jobs across the state.
