Goulburn Valley Health has confirmed the person who tested positive for coronavirus in Greater Shepparton had returned from overseas.
In a statement released this afternoon, GV Health said the patient attended their screening station and was assessed in the Acute Respiratory Clinic on Thursday, March 19.
The person was well enough to return home and remained there following the assessment, and will continue self-isolating.
The statement said there are no inpatients at GV Health who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Greater Shepparton has its first confirmed case of COVID-19, the state government has said in a statement today.
The News understands the person was tested at Goulburn Valley Health.
Another person has tested positive for the virus in the Gannawarra Shire, north-west of Echuca.
An update from the state government said the total number of cases in Victoria had risen to 296, with 25 in regional Victoria.
Multiple cases have occurred in the regional local government areas of Greater Geelong (8), Ballarat (3), Surf Coast (2), Warrnambool (2) and Macedon Ranges (2).
Latrobe, Yarriambiack, Gannawarra, Hepburn, Moorabool, Mitchell, Greater Shepparton and Mildura have all reported one case.
At this point in time, there are three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Victoria that may have been acquired through community transmission.
More than 22 900 Victorians have been tested to date.
A number of cases remain under investigation.
