Judy-Anne Argaet faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Monday for the incident which occurred on September 26 last year.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Caitlin McLeod told the court Argaet was observed by police driving a grey Mitsubishi Magna along Malcolm Cres in Shepparton about 4.20 pm.
The court heard Argaet was asked to show her driver's licence, and a preliminary oral fluid test was conducted which indicated the presence of an illicit drug.
Sen Const McLeod said an oral fluid sample was taken and conveyed to the forensics laboratory where it showed traces of methylamphetamine.
The court heard Argaet was interviewed by police, and when she was asked if there was any reason for driving the vehicle with drugs in her system she said she "didn't think it would show up".
When pleading her case in court to Magistrate Ian Watkins on Monday, Argaet said she didn't think she had a problem with drugs and hadn't touched them since.
Mr Watkins urged Argaet to change her lifestyle, saying she would end up in jail if she continued down the same path.
Argaet was convicted and fined $750, her driver's licence was cancelled and she was disqualified for driving in Victoria for 12 months.
