Police are investigating a suspicious grass fire that broke out in Girgarre on Wednesday afternoon.
More than 30 CFA tankers from across the region attended the scene around 6.30 pm.
Crews managed to bring the blaze under control within the hour but worked to extinguish the fire throughout the night.
CFA investigators and arson chemists attended the scene yesterday to determine the cause and prepare a report for police.
It is estimated the fire burnt about 100 acres of farm land.
No-one was injured in the blaze and no structures were damaged.
