Emergency services were called to the car fire at a home in Lawson St, Mooroopna just after 10pm.
Country Fire Authority District 22 operations officer Peter Bell confirmed two units from Shepparton and two from Mooroopna attended the blaze.
While it did not take long to bring under control, Mr Bell said the car received some damage during the blaze.
A police spokesperson confirmed police attended the scene following the blaze to begin investigations.
“(Police) were made aware of reports of a man seen leaving the scene shortly after the blaze began,” they said.
“A search of the area was conducted and police located a man up a tree a short time later.”
Critical Incident Response Team negotiators were called to the scene and successfully talked the man into climbing down the tree just before 3am.
The police spokesperson confirmed the 41-year-old man was taken to hospital for assessment.
Mr Bell confirmed this was the second incident that occurred at the address in the same amount of days.
The investigation into the car fire remains ongoing.
