The iconic event returns in April next year and will be the last triathlon of the Victorian summer season.
The main event is the half-length triathlon, including a 1.9 km swim in Victoria Park Lake, 90 km bike ride through Toolamba and Mooroopna and 21.1 km run along the Goulburn River.
But do not worry if that is too long — there are Olympic and sprint distances, plus a kids’ triathlon.
Winners of both men's and women's pro categories take home $4000.
It will be the 21st year the triathlon event has been swum, ridden and run in Shepparton.
“Greater Shepparton has a very proud history of hosting triathlon events in our region which draw visitors from right across the nation, as well as some international athletes,” Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Seema Abdullah said.
“We look forward to welcoming the triathlon athletes next year to explore our region’s beautiful scenery and friendly hospitality.
“Council is pleased to be again partnering with Challenge Family in 2020.’’
Professional triathletes are not afraid to try what is quite a flat course, with Tim Van Berkel, Annabel Luxford and Ellie Salthouse having all competed in previous editions of the Shepparton event.
Sign up as a team or individual; early bird specials are still available.
