The centre, which was built in 1982, had not been updated until shop owners decided to invest about $1.3 million on a makeover.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of November, and renewed signage will follow at a later stage.
“We expect the project to benefit the community ... new clean facilities available for customer use, a refreshed appearance within the mall, and the enhanced features of undercover parking in the summer should make every visit to Shepparton Plaza a positive experience for everyone,” owner corporation manager Emma Glazebrook said.
She said the owners had taken time and care to represent the plaza as a vibrant and inviting shopping hub to serve the local community.
