Worth $15 000 a year, the university's Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences was awarded funding by the Federal Education Department to provide 15 scholarships for students starting a Diploma of General Studies and three scholarships for international PhD candidates.
Dookie Campus director Ros Gall said the scholarships would provide students with the opportunity to experience study programs in a regional area.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to support and encourage students who might not have the chance to study at Dookie,” she said.
“We know that students who study at Dookie are far more likely to seek regional careers-building capacity and contributing to the economic viability of regional Australia.”
Ms Gall said the scholarships would provide skills and education to tomorrow’s leader in the areas of sustainability, growth and climate change.
