It was the ambassador's first time in Shepparton and he said he was welcomed by all.
“People have been so warm, friendly and welcoming,” Mr Jadwat said.
“For me as an ambassador, to come back to a local community.
“It’s nice to touch base to see what makes our country so great.”
The ambassador met with Greater Shepparton City Council including mayor Kim O’Keeffe and several other industry members to speak about the history and legacy of Shepparton and the opportunity for future growth.
“The meeting this morning gave (the ambassador) a snapshot of the great (business) successes and industries we have here,” Cr O'Keeffe said.
“Because we are such a productive region and sometimes the perception can be a little bit different to that it’s refreshing for him to see that we are such a progressive region.”
After the meeting the ambassador took a tour of the Albanian Mosque in Shepparton.
“I’m learning about the history of greater Shepparton and what makes this community tick and all the opportunities here.” Mr Jadwat said.
“I hope it makes the community feel they are respected and valued and the foreign service and what we do overseas is a part of what this community needs.”
The mosque is celebrating its 60th year next year in Shepparton.
“The main thing we need to happen is for our community to benefit from meeting the ambassador as he is going to have a better understanding of what our offerings are and what attracts people to our region,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
