Congupna residents are being invited to contribute to the Greater Shepparton City Council's draft Congupna Framework Plan which is open for comments from September 19 to October 10.
Council said Congupna was identified as a township with the capacity to grow and offer a rural lifestyle alternative in the council's Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy of 2011.
Shepparton-based design consultancy SPIRE Australia has been appointed to prepare the Congupna Framework Plan.
Council sustainable development director, Geraldine Christou, said the framework plan aims to identify development opportunities, appropriate residential densities and to prepare an expansion plan that does not detract from the exisiting character of the township.
Ms Christou said residents' perspectives and experiences would be play an important part in the framework plan "that will guide the vision for the township over the next three decades".
Council officers and SPIRE consultants will host a public drop-in session on Thursday September 19. Residents are invited to call in to the Congupna Community Hall at the recreation reserve on the Katamatite-Shepparton road between 5pm and 7pm for a chat.
