However, club members now face a big challenge to help fill the funding shortfall after the Federal Government kicked in $500,000 last year and Greater Shepparton City Council came up with $30,000 for the project.
Undaunted, board members Lyn Scott and Lorraine Henderson and social committee member Josie Italia already have exciting fundraising plans in place.
Three main events before Christmas are planned: a fashion parade, supper dance with live music and the annual Oaks Day luncheon.
But that's not all.
"We'll take a breath and then see what we can do next," Mrs Henderson said.
Next year also sees the 50th anniversary of the club.
Mrs Scott highlighted the club's other attractions: social bowls on Mondays, business bowls on Tuesday evenings and a function room available for barefoot bowls events, private parties, and Christmas functions.
Mrs Henderson said the new nine-rink covered green had been a longtime plan for club members.
"It's been a dream of many people to bring this to fruition - it's something that will set us up for the future," she said.
