As a way to celebrate the end of a four-week poetry unit, all Year 2 students wrote their own poems on a paper pocket, which was then attached to their pajamas.
The students spent the day moving through each of the grade two classrooms, practicing different styles of poetry including sensory, shape and alliteration.
The students were also expected to recite the poems they had created when asked by students in the school yard.
Bourchier Street PS Year 2 teacher Megan Walsh said the poem pockets had been done in previous years, however the addition of pajamas was new, highlighting the poetry units work on alliteration.
"The students love the day," Ms Walsh said.
"They enjoy sharing their poems and taking part in the activities throughout the day."
