AUSTRALIA'S RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS

* 15 cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia: five in Queensland; four in New South Wales; four in Victoria; two in South Australia

* 10 of the earlier cases have recovered, the other five are in a stable condition

* All of the cases in Australia have come from Wuhan except one in NSW who had contact in China with a confirmed case in Wuhan

* 75,751 cases worldwide

* 2121 deaths

* WHO says the data from China shows a decline in new cases

* 634 people have so far tested positive on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, currently locked down in Japan

* Three cruise ship passengers have reportedly died

* Two Australian evacuees from the cruise ship (out of 164) have tested positive to the virus at the Howard Springs camp and have been isolated from others

* Health authorities say it is possible others may test positive

* Travel restrictions have been extended for a further week to February 29

* Foreign nationals - excluding permanent residents - who have been in mainland China will not be allowed to enter Australia for 14 days from the time they left mainland China

* Australian citizens and permanent residents will still be able to enter, as will their immediate family members (spouses, legal guardians and dependants only)

* People who have been in contact with someone confirmed to have coronavirus must self-isolate for 14 days from the time they were in contact with that person.
