Stanhope's monthly Monster Garage Sale and mini swap meet is on again on Sunday.
The event, which sees the town become a flurry of activity, will be taking over Birdwood Ave and is the perfect chance to offload a few things or pick up the perfect Christmas gift.
You can either book a site for a stall to make a few dollars or come along to see the many and varied things on offer by others.
This month the theme for the day is car parts and books.
“Many folk have bits and pieces of car parts hidden away in a shed somewhere, so this is a great chance to be rid of some of the clutter in your shed and make a few dollars as well,” Stanhope and District Development Committee member Glenda Cowie said.
“Remember, someone’s junk can be another person’s treasure. Every family has some books stacked away, taking up precious space.
“Books that have been well read and no longer of any interest, but could certainly be of interest to another family.
“Of course, if you are interested in books, this is a great way of purchasing some cheap books to keep you interested over the Christmas holidays.”
The Stanhope monster garage sale has been operating for almost 10 years and attracts people from many parts of the region.
It commences at 8.30am and concludes about 1.30pm, and most sites are under cover.
There is a barbecue available and some of the local shops and attractions are also open.
To book a site for a stall phone 58572866 between 11am and 3pm or at other times call 0427 539 110.
