Lady Boss Events returns to Shepparton

By Tara Whitsed

A popular day out is returning to Shepparton with new guest speakers and a different format.

Lady Boss Events will return this month after two previous successful Shepparton-based events.

Run by local women Amanda McCulloch and Jess Blizzard, this year’s event is set to be more intimate.

Ms Blizzard said they were scaling back from the big shed space of previous events and this year there would be no shopping hall.

“The day is still about fun, a great catch-up with your friends as you pick the brains of these hilarious and engaging women,” she said.

The event will feature five female speakers across two days with the cheeky Shannon Kelly White kicking things off on Saturday, October 19 from 5pm.

Ms Blizzard said entry to this talk would only be available through purchasing tickets to the Sunday event, which, for the first time, will feature two panels.

The first panel will focus on the topics of health, hormones and business, featuring panellists Nat Kringoudis and Tess Shanahan.

This will be followed by a panel on motherhood, mayhem and marriage, with speakers Lorinska Merrington and Bec Douros.

“The panel is a fantastic group of successful women that look forward to an open conversation with our regional audience,” Ms Blizzard said.

“Let's chat about the stresses of life, work/life balance, motherhood, relationships, health and wellness and what this means in the digital age.

“All of our speakers are successful business owners, award-winning authors and app creators.”

Ms Blizzard said, as always, all of the speakers would be available to meet and greet the attendees, chat with them and grab a photo as a memento of the day.

“Tickets are extremely affordable for the number of speakers they will be accessing over the weekend, which is something we're always very mindful of for our audience,” she said.

“Events are spread across the weekend and we're working with Shepparton Show Me to showcase Shepparton businesses to our travelling attendees.”

Tickets cost $85 for Sunday’s event, or $99 for Saturday and Sunday, and can be purchased on TryBooking.

Shannon Kelly White

She’s Australia favourite potty-mouthed cook who drops more F-bombs than Gordon Ramsay.

Shannon is the best-selling author of Shannon’s Kitchen Australia and recently Parenting for Legends, both of which are written with wit, charisma and skill.

Recently accepting an award at the World Gourmand Cookbook awards, this modest woman now has global attention.

In her past life Shannon was a qualified nurse — and wow, does she have some pearlers from those days!

A woman without a judgmental bone in her body, Shannon wants us to simplify our lives and remove that mum guilt.

Join Shannon as we drop some truth bombs over a glass of vino on Saturday, October 19.

Shannon will read some excerpts from her latest offering and delve into a very tongue-in-cheek Q&A as we whinge about men, motherhood and making dinner.

Tess Shanahan

Yes, she has legs for days and gorgeous blonde locks — but don’t make any assumptions; Tess Shanahan is a woman on a mission.

Tell is the founder and creator of @Nibblitapp — an app that helps you dine out based on your dietary and allergy restrictions, and which is consistently topping download lists.

She’s the Founder of #TessTalks and is constantly exploring topics such as business, social enterprise, wellness and motivation.

This Melbourne-based model and presenter has worked with top brands in Australia and worldwide and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to pushing yourself to the front on social media and creating a lasting impression.

Tess jumped at this opportunity to join in a conversation with regional women.

“Transform now, avoid the rush later,” is the motto Tess lives by; so be ready to be blown away with some truth bombs.

Bec Douros

She hit our screens on The Block in 2013 and won Australia’s heart with her grit and determination to finish the show following the heartbreaking passing of her beloved mum Rosa.

Bec is all of us — wife, mother, business owner — and proudly admits that she tears her hair out struggling to do all three.

With her qualifications in interior design, and with her husband George, she has launched the successful design firm Nectaar, and was on television screens recently showcasing their latest series Nick’s Place on Ready, Set, Reno.

Bec is a woman of style who will proudly rock her mum bun as she rushes for day-care drop-off.

Bec is here to share the highs and lows of motherhood, answering the prickly question of how she works with her husband and how she created her Instagram following.

So be ready to down a big glass of wine as we get real about life, love and failure.

Lorinska Merrington

Television personality and the star of Yummy Mummies will be rocking the mic with her cheeky sense of humour and fresh approach to motherhood.

Boasting 670,000 followers on Instagram, this is one mumma who has turned her profile into a business with the recent launch of Bub App — a companion for all parents.

Lorinska first took to our screens providing info from a traffic chopper, forging a career on radio before hitting our screens in a big way with Yummy Mummies.

Lorinska is a wealth of knowledge who has specialised in early childhood development and integration for children with special needs.

She will be joining us for a hilarious afternoon of unloading about parenthood, pumping and toddler tantrums.

So slap on that fake tan, lock in the babysitter and get ready to laugh until you pee with one of Australia's most well-known mothers.

Dr Nat Kringoudis (TCM)

Women’s hormone specialist, founder of The Pagoda Tree, best-selling author and co-creator of The Period Party and Wellness Collective podcasts, Dr Nat Kringoudis (TCM) will debunk all the myths surrounding health and hormones.

She’s not here to lecture and wants us to embrace a balanced approach — wine and all.

Bring your girlfriends, bring your mum, and sit back as we belly laugh about all our misunderstandings about our body.

You can pick Nat’s brain as a practitioner, author, mum and business owner.

Nat has been consistently selling out events Australia-wide, with a recent sold-out appearance in Echuca.
