Tonny coach Daniel Coombs was rewarded for his season at the top of the order as the first outright winner in three years.
He joins teammates Darin Ohlsen — who tied with Cooma's Michael Hill in 2018-19 — and Adam Nunn — who tied with Echuca's Matt Hinks in 2017-18 — as recent winners of the award.
Coombs played all 15 A-grade matches, making 661 runs at 50.8.
His top score for the season was 103, also making two scores in the 80s and one in the 70s.
He also contributed with the ball, taking 10 wickets at 28.8.
Coombs said he was honoured to add another award to the club's trophy case.
“It's a big thing for us,” Coombs said.
“For our club to have three awards in a row is a great effort. Adam and Darin are fantastic players, so it's pretty special to have my name alongside theirs.”
Coombs put his success down to his desire to set the example for his teammates — although he was reluctant to claim too much credit, rather pointing to his teammates for driving the all-round success.
“As coach, you try and lead from the front,” he said.
“I aimed to be consistent, always looking to add something to what our team did. You try and do what's best for your team every time you take to the field so we could have as much success as we could.
“I think the coaching aspect benefits because it drives you. Myself and (captain) Darin worked really well together during the year, taking pressure off one another. We help to relieve the stress of one another's jobs and it allows us to play our best cricket for the side.”
