But nothing removes the nerves of grand final week for any side.
Lancaster's under 13s are just days away from taking on Nagambie in the grand final of the Kyabram District League, but the reality of the grand final is starting to sink in.
"They're all very excited to be there," coach Elly Westerveld said.
"But there are elements of nerves there as well. It's a big moments and a special experience for all the players to get to be a part of a grand final, so it's understandable.
"I've talked to them a lot about just enjoying this moment. They're out there to have fun and enjoy themselves and the fact they are in a grand final, take in the experience more than anything.
"They've played a great season, this is their reward for it, so I really hope the side just takes it in on grand final day."
And the Wombats have the form throughout the season to show nerves are nothing they need worry themselves with.
Lancaster went 12-1 through their 13 games played for the season, finishing on top of the ladder for the competition, before breezing past Avenel to make the grand final.
For Westerveld, the ability of her side to adapt has been the driving force behind their success.
"The majority of our team have the ability to play in both attack and in defence which has been a huge advantage," she said.
"We've had the ability this season to make changes on the court, switch the bibs around and put players into different positions on the court in order to get wins when we needed."
The Wombats open the days proceedings at the KDFNL on Saturday.
